Fulham reject new Tottenham bid for Ryan Sessegnon - sources

Tottenham Hotspur have had a new bid for Fulham youngster Ryan Sessegnon rejected, sources close to the player have told ESPN FC.

Spurs sources acknowledged interest in the player when contacted by ESPN FC but played down reports of a material bid.

However, sources close to Sessegnon, who can operate at left-back or on the left wing, maintain that a £25m bid has been rejected by the Championship club.

Fulham managed to secure the England youth international on a three-year deal professional contract in June when he turned 17, but Tottenham have been tracking Sessegnon since he broke into Slavisa Jokanovic's side last season at the age of 16 and remain determined to secure his signature.

Spurs must now decide whether to return with an improved offer.

A number of the Premier League's top clubs, including Liverpool and Manchester United, have also been chasing the player.

ESPN FC's Tottenham correspondent, Dan Kilpatrick, contributed to this report.
