PARIS -- Monaco forward Kylian Mbappe is keen on a move to Paris Saint-Germain to form a new-look attack with Neymar but no agreement has been reached yet and may not be this summer, a source close to PSG has told ESPN FC.
Mbappe, 18, has caught the eye this year after an excellent second half of the 2016-17 season as part of Leonardo Jardim's side that impressed in Ligue 1 and the Champions League, and his rise has not gone unnoticed by PSG.
The source said that PSG are currently undergoing a restructuring of their ambitious project with the goal of European success, and part of sporting director Antero Henrique, chairman and CEO Nasser Al-Khelaifi and coach Unai Emery's joint vision is a team that features Mbappe and Neymar in attack.
With the Brazil international already on board after his €222 million move from Barcelona, PSG have now focused the majority of their attention on securing the second star name they see as vital to the regeneration of their project, Mbappe.
The source added that Henrique and his assistant Maxwell are not neglecting other areas and are expected to make the arrival of defender Juan Foyth official soon and remain keen to bring in a defensive midfielder -- ideally Monaco's Fabinho -- and possibly a goalkeeper.
Monaco boss Leonardo Jardim was unruffled when he faced the press on Friday ahead of Sunday's trip to Dijon.
Jardim has already lost Bernardo Silva and Benjamin Mendy to Manchester City and Tiemoue Bakayoko to Chelsea this summer. But he suggested that the French champions were unlikely to sell one of their major assets to a fellow Ligue 1 side.
"I'm calmly waiting for the [August] 31st. It'll come quickly," he told his prematch news conference. "I'm focussed on my work and my team. A great Portuguese club official told me once: 'The transfer window isn't only about strengthening teams, it's also about weakening rivals...'"

Currently free of financial fair play limitations, PSG know that they have until 2019 to get their books in order and are confident they will be able to justify their purchase of Neymar and the potential acquisition of Mbappe at high initial cost through various commercial avenues.
Earlier this summer, a source told ESPN FC that PSG are willing to pay upwards of €135m for Mbappe but that was before the acquisition of Neymar.
The source said that Mbappe has been won over by the idea of returning to Paris to play for his childhood club thanks to the combination of a lucrative prospective contract, the fact that Neymar has moved to Parc des Princes and the player's concerns over Monaco's ambition after a number of key departures this summer -- all of which means the idea of signing a new contract at Stade Louis II no longer appeals.
However, that source also acknowledged that PSG are still struggling to convince their Ligue 1 rivals to separate with either Mbappe or Fabinho and remain mindful that if they do land the former they will have to expedite the departures of certain star names.
In an ideal world, PSG would be able to wait until next summer to land Mbappe as part of a more gradual -- but still significant -- restructuring, but the source said that they are aware of the fact that this summer might be their only chance to land the player they believe is a generational French talent.
If they can persuade Monaco to sell Mbappe to them, PSG are prepared to do what it takes to capture the youngster now.
