Liverpool complete signing of left-back Andrew Robertson from Hull City

Liverpool have completed the signing of Hull City defender Andrew Robertson.

Scotland international Robertson has signed a long-term contract and moves to Anfield for an undisclosed fee, which sources have told ESPN FC is £8 million and could rise to £10m.

The 23-year-old told Liverpool's official website: "It feels a wee bit surreal just now, but obviously I'm delighted.

"There's been a lot of speculation over the last couple of weeks, but I'm glad that the deal's finally been done and I'm a Liverpool player.

"There's not many, if any, more special clubs than Liverpool. When you grow up as a kid you dream of playing with big clubs such as Liverpool, and to make that a reality is a dream come true for me."

"I just want to prove to people that I can do it at this level, and hopefully I manage to do that this season and go on to do good things for this club."

Manager Jurgen Klopp, who has been looking for a left-back to provide competition for makeshift defender James Milner, said: "When you speak to Andrew it is clear why he makes progress.

"He has a burning love for playing football -- he really loves the game. His attitude is outstanding, and his talent and skills are also very, very good.

"He has experience of the Premier League, and he has the mentality and quality to get even better."

Liverpool had initially identified Fulham youngster Ryan Sessegnon at left full-back, but went on to pursue other targets before the 17-year-old signed a professional contract at Craven Cottage last month.

Alberto Moreno is widely expected to leave Anfield this summer, with Liverpool having already rejected a €12.5m (£11m) bid from Napoli as they seek more than the £12m they paid Sevilla for him in August 2014.

Meanwhile, Hull have announced the signing of Liverpool midfielder Kevin Stewart for an undisclosed fee.

The 23-year-old, who has signed a three-year contract, made 11 league appearances for Liverpool and spent spells on loan at clubs including Burton Albion and Swindon Town.

He told Hull's official website: "I'm delighted to sign for the club -- I can't wait to get started."
