Manchester United expecting Real Madrid bid for David De Gea - sources

Manchester United are expecting another bid from Real Madrid for David De Gea this summer, sources have told ESPN FC.

The Spanish giants have a long-running interest in the goalkeeper and are set to make a fresh offer after Gianluigi Donnarumma signed a new contact at AC Milan.

Madrid had targeted the Italian teenager and Chelsea's Thibaut Courtois as they search for a replacement for Keylor Navas.

However, after Donnarumma decided to stay at the San Siro, and with Chelsea refusing to negotiate over Courtois, the La Liga side have turned their attentions back to De Gea.

The Spain international is under contract until 2019 with the option of another year after signing a new long-term deal in the aftermath of his botched move to the Bernabeu in 2015.

Sources said that De Gea would still like to move to Real Madrid at some stage during his career, but United are adamant they have no interest in selling.

United and Real Madrid are both currently in Los Angeles ahead of the International Champions Cup. The two teams are both using UCLA as their base with their training pitches just yards apart.

A new bid for De Gea will only increase tensions between the two teams after a battle over hotels and facilities ahead of their trip to the city.

United also pulled out of negotiations with Real Madrid over the sale of Alvaro Morata after agreeing a deal with Everton for Romelu Lukaku. Morata is currently with the Real squad in California.

Meanwhile, Inter are still refusing to lower their €55 million asking price for Ivan Perisic.

Sources have told ESPN FC that the Italian side are not convinced they will be able to find a replacement for the Croatian and do not want to sell despite the player's insistence that he wants to leave.
