La Liga club Real Betis presented Mexico international Andres Guardado like a prizefighter upon his official news conference after completing his transfer from PSV Eindhoven on Friday.
Guardado had been linked to the Spanish team over recent days as vice president Lorenzo Serra Ferrer fought off Major League Soccer and other interested parties to sign the 30-year-old Guadalajara native.

Guardado thanked the fans of his former club for their support via social media, saying: "There are not enough words...The way you have made me feel throughout these three wonderful years, since the moment I got to Eindhoven."
He also spoke of his new challenge: "I am excited to form part of this great project with you all. I thank you all my friends for placing your trust in me."
Serra praised Guardado's versatility and said he could play at left-back, central midfield, as a No. 10 or on the left of midfield.
Betis has reportedly paid PSV around €2 million for Guardado and the contract will run until 2020.
Guardado recently featured for Mexico in the Confederations Cup and has previously played in La Liga for Deportivo La Coruna and Valencia.
