Antonio Rudiger 'will see in coming weeks' about move to Chelsea

Germany defender Antonio Rudiger refused to speculate about a possible move to Premier League champions Chelsea in the wake of his nation's Confederations Cup victory.

Rudiger stood tall as the Germans kept a clean sheet against a dangerous Chile side, winning Sunday's final 1-0 in Saint Petersburg.

Roma centre-back Rudiger has been linked to both Chelsea and Manchester City in England, but declined to discuss his club future as he celebrated with his international teammates.

"It's not about the future now... it's now about enjoyment," Rudiger said. "I need to enjoy this moment, and I'm enjoying it to the fullest.

"The rest we will see in the coming weeks."

A fee of around £29 million has reportedly been agreed by Chelsea for the 24-year-old, who has played the last two seasons with Roma. He also hinted at a move to West London on social media.

Rudiger has become increasingly important for world champions Germany, earning 17 caps since 2014.

Joachim Low rested a number of first-choice stars, but prevailed 1-0 over Chile in the final, thanks to Lars Stindl's third goal of the competition in the 20th minute to complete an unbeaten tournament.

"It was not easy. The guys had to work really hard," Rudiger said.

"We played as a team in all games and I think that was the key."

It was Germany's first Confederations Cup title, providing an excellent warm up to Russia 2018 where Low's side will be trying to win a fifth World Cup.
