Tottenham's Christian Eriksen: Not many would say no to Barcelona

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Christian Eriksen has said it would be hard to turn down interest from Barcelona, telling Danish newspaper Ekstra Bladet he wants to play at the highest level.

Eriksen was voted Tottenham's Player of the Year by supporters after finishing a superb season with 12 goals and more than 20 assists, and his former manager Frank de Boer said he has all the qualities to play for Barcelona.

In September, he signed a new four-year deal until 2020 but said he would consider any serious interest from Barcelona -- as would any other player.

"I've been there [on trial as a teenager] at one point, and it didn't work out too well," he said. "But Barcelona is a fantastic club -- I don't think there a lot of players who would say no to Barcelona.

"But there is 'interest' and then there is concrete interest. Until there is some concrete interest, I don't have an opinion about it."

Spurs finished second in the Premier League last season with a club record 86 points, but Eriksen is still yet to win a trophy since joining in 2014.

The 25-year-old said: "In the future I see myself at the highest level. That's what I dream about. That could be in two to three years.

"It could be at a different club or it could be at Tottenham, if we have got all the way to that level."
