Bordeaux go third with 1-1 draw at Nice in Ligue 1

Jimmy Briand scored a 50th minute penalty for Bordeaux in a 1-1 draw at Nice that sent the visitors third in Ligue 1 on goal difference on Friday.

Pierre Lees Melou had put Patrick Vieira's team in front with a bullet of a header in the 27th minute at the Allianz Riviera Stadium.

Champions Paris St Germain have 27 points from 12 games, with Angers second on 20 and Bordeaux level with Nantes and Olympique de Marseille on 19 but with Paulo Sousa's men having played one game more.

Nice are 10th with 17 points.

Bordeaux have now taken 11 of their points on the road, more than any team except PSG who are at Brest on Saturday.
