Bayern Munich ease by Paderborn into DFB Pokal semifinals

Kingsley Coman had a goal and an assist and Arjen Robbed added a late brace as Bayern Munich cruised into the semifinals of the DFB Pokal with a 6-0 win away to Paderborn on Tuesday.

Robert Lewandowski, Joshua Kimmich and Corentin Tolisso also scored before Robben got in on the action as Bayern reached the semis for the ninth consecutive season.

Third-division Paderborn had their share of chances and had a goal ruled out for offside in the eighth minute, but Bayern took the lead in the 19th minute.

Thomas Muller ran onto a lobbed pass in the box and volleyed the ball back to the centre, and though Robben scuffed his attempt at a right-footed shot, Coman was on hand to slot home the loose ball.

Bayern doubled their lead six minutes later when Coman slipped the ball into the box to Lewandwoski, who showed good control to bring the ball down with his chest before slotting home.

It wasn't all good news for Bayern as Muller suffered a knock in the build-up to the first goal and had to be replaced by Tolisso.

The third goal came soon before half-time as Kimmich beat first the offside trap and then the opposing goalkeeper at his near post.

Ten minutes after the break, Tolisso headed home following a James Rodriguez corner to make it 4-0.

Paderborn were left shaking their heads as Ben Zolinski hit the post and Phillip Tietz could not finish off a pass in the box with the goal gaping.

But Robben scored a trademark left-footed curler from the top of the box for Bayern's fifth goal with four minutes to play, then had the simplest of tap-ins to cap the victory.
