Fans rain debris onto pitch as Atlanta United end Orlando City's winning streak

Josef Martinez scored his eighth goal of the season for a share of the MLS lead as Atlanta United snapped Orlando City's six-game winning streak with a 2-1 victory on Sunday night.

Greg Garza drew a penalty in the ninth minute to set up Martinez for the opening goal. Martinez is now level with Columbus' Gyasi Zardes in the race for the MLS Golden Boot.

Atlanta United took a 2-0 lead in the 31st minute when Ezequiel Barco connected with Garza for a give-and-go that the 19-year-old finished with a rising shot that glanced underneath the crossbar.

Justin Meram pounced on the rebound of Will Johnson's saved attempted and slotted home the loose ball to bring Orlando City within a goal in the 57th. It was Meram's first goal for the Lions.

The match, however, was marred late-on by a set of Orlando fans throwing beer cans, bottles and cups onto the pitch.

The Lions issued a statement after the game condemning the fans' actions and promised to use the "available resources to identify offenders, who will be penalized for their behavior."
