Crewe Alexandra 1-2 Bolton Wanderers

A much-changed Bolton side staged a late comeback to secure a 2-1 victory in their Carabao Cup first-round tie at Crewe.
Adam Armstrong and Derik Osede were on target in the final quarter of the match at Gresty Road after Chris Porter's first-half header had given the League Two side a deserved interval lead.
Crewe dominated for over an hour and could have added to their advantage, but a triple substitution by Bolton boss Phil Parkinson turned the tie on its head.
Parkinson made 10 changes from the starting XI on duty in Sunday's opening Sky Bet Championship defeat against Leeds, including handing first-year scholar Jack Earing only his second start.
Crewe boss Dave Artell's summer overhaul has seen experience drafted in to blend with youth and one of those older hands Porter went close with an early header.
And when Chris Dagnall's driven cross found his strike partner at the far post, Ben Alnwick failed to keep Porter's header from creeping inside the post for the opener three minutes before half-time.
After the restart it was Crewe again taking the initiative with Porter firing just over.
Bolton struggled to pose any real threat and they were close to falling further behind when Porter flicked Dagnall's curling cross on towards the far corner only for Alnwick to palm around the post.
Then Porter's deflected effort dipped onto the bar. But by then Parkinson had drafted on Gary Madine, Filipe Morais and Jem Karacan and the changes proved decisive.
First Armstrong finished off from close range after Will Buckley pulled the ball back from the by-line in the 70th minute. And then Spanish defender Osede powered in a header after Morais clipped a free-kick over the area nine minutes from time.
