Chievo continued their fine start to the Serie A season with a 2-1 victory over Sassuolo. The win made it 10 points from five games thanks to goals from Nicola Rigoni and Lucas Castro. Rigoni opened the scoring in the 21st minute with a long-range effort following a corner. It took just seven minutes for the visitors to equalise through Gregoire Defrel but Castro scored what proved to be the winner in the 40th minute with a header from Valter Birsa's cross. The result lifted Chievo up to fourth place, only two points behind leaders Juventus.
