Grimsby Town have been promoted to League 2 after beating Forest Green Rovers 3-1 in the National League playoff final at Wembley.

Grimsby, who finished fourth in the league on 80 points, will return to the Football League after suffering relegation back in 2010.

The Lincolnshire side took the lead through a Darren Carter own goal before Omar Bogle headed in the second, ensuring the Mariners were comfortably ahead at the interval.

Forest Green Rovers hit back after the break thanks to a Keanu Marsh-Brown strike but Nathan Arnold scored in injury time to ensure a 3-1 Grimsby win.
