PARIS -- Javier Pastore says he's feeling back in "the swing of things" after putting in a productive performance in Paris Saint-Germain's 4-1 win over Nantes in Ligue 1 on Saturday.
Pastore scored one goal and set up another, and the Argentina international was pleased to make the most of a second straight start after receiving criticism for his display away to Angers before the most recent international break.
"This has done us good," Pastore told Canal+ after the game. "I have played two consecutive matches as a starter, which I needed to get back into the swing of things.
"Scoring and providing an assist here is what I am supposed to do, so I am happy. We can still get better though. We can be a little more focused and still pay attention to those players left in attack.
"However, the team today is much improved from the earlier games [this season]. We press better and work together much more. It is much better."
The final score at Parc des Princes was convincing, but the French capital outfit were fortuitous with three of their four goals, with Edinson Cavani (two) and Angel Di Maria also getting on the scoresheet.
Speaking with beIN Sports France after the win over Claudio Ranieri's Canaris, Emery praised the Italian's organisational skills but felt it was a merited victory.
"Nantes were very competitive," said the Spaniard. "They know better than to play at a gentle rhythm. It was difficult and we were up against a very strong defence. Because of this, I am very happy. To win 4-1 is a good result.
"We were very good. We started to create chances inside the opening 10 minutes. We finished the first half strongly, with two goals. We were not as good at the start of the second but after Nantes scored, the team overcame this and we ended up winning comfortably.
"It is important to keep this level of performance and this pace in every game. We want to win every match and by a large margin. We will put in a great performance in Monaco. They are a tough team but we already have a little lead. We want to play with confidence and character there."
Cavani scored two and was the recipient of Pastore's assist. The Uruguay international now has 15 Ligue 1 goals this season and feels that there is more to come from him and his teammates.
"We put in a great performance," said Cavani to Canal+. "We knew that we could stay top and extend our lead over Monaco. This enabled us to concentrate and produce this sort of performance.
"We are not thinking about the next game, about Monaco. We only think about the match that we are playing at that moment. We think about progressing. There are a lot of fixtures left this season, across all competitions.
"I am happy with my goals, which is something that pleases any attacker. This is what I bring to my team. I am happy but we still lack a bit. I hope that we will continue to develop in this way."
Next up for PSG are Celtic in the Champions League and then Monaco in Ligue 1, before Troyes round off November's fixtures.
