Sunday Faleye has confirmed reports to KweséESPN that he has been ruled out of the remainder of the African Nations Championship due to an arm injury.

The 21-year-old Shooting Stars attacker has been one of the Super Eagles' most impressive performers at the ongoing CHAN, adapting quickly to international football despite his inexperience and representing a key attacking threat in a Nigeria side that has occasionally struggled to ignite.

Faleye scored the only goal of the game as the West African giants beat Libya in their second group game, but has confirmed that his tournament is over after a dislocated elbow sustained against Angola in Nigeria's quarter-final triumph.

Despite his setback, Faleye has told KweséESPN that he's feeling positive after his encouraging tournament showing.

The attacker fell awkwardly under pressure from an Angolan defender in the Eagles' quarter-final clash, and despite returning to play the match - with strapping on his arm - he is unable to recover from his injuries in time for the remainder of the tournament.

As the team left the Kenzi Solazur hotel in Tanger en route for Marrakech, the youngster was seen sporting a sling on his right arm, with the team doctor confirming to The Nation that the forward's injury is "severe".

Nigeria meet Sudan in the second CHAN semi final on Wednesday, with Morocco hosting Libya in Casablanca earlier in the day.
