Following on the heels of their new partnership with Aiteo Group, the NFF have begun the process of clearing wages owed to national team coaches in its employ.
On Tuesday, about 15 coaches were at the NFF offices in Abuja to meet with the adhoc Technical and Establishment committee for the reconciliation and harmonization of outstanding wages.
Super Eagles head coach Salisu Yusuf led the coaches who met with the committee, headed by Executive Committee member Chris Green.
Others included Alloy Agu, Fatai Amoo, David Ngodigha, Monday Odigie, Manu Garba, Nduka Ugbade, Edwin Okon, Chris Danjuma, Peter Dedevbo, Toyin Ayinla, Lateef Yusuf, Bala Mohammed, Ann Chiejine and Bala Nikyu.
NFF President Amaju Pinnick told KweséESPN that it is a first step towards the coaches getting their entitlements.
"The committee has two days to reconcile all the outstanding allowances, and payments should be done before the end of the current season," Pinnick said. "This is the beginning of the fulfillment of our partnership with Aiteo Group to ensure that all our coaches are paid so that they can focus on the important things."
Last month, the NFF signed a 5-year, N2.5bn partnership deal to cover payment of coaches. The deal which made the energy company a Premium Optimum Partner of the NFF.
