Carlo Ancelotti 'worthy of his reputation' after Liverpool win - Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis praised coach Carlo Ancelotti after his team beat Liverpool 1-0 in the Champions League on Wednesday.

Lorenzo Insigne's last-minute winner sealed the points and De Laurentiis, who was criticised for allowing Maurizio Sarri leave for Chelsea, was glowing about Sarri's successor.

"A great victory against a great squad," he tweeted. "Ancelotti is worthy of his reputation."

Match-winner Insigne also joined in with the praise for Ancelotti, saying: "More and more, this is becoming Ancelotti's Napoli. He's changed a lot, and we're following him."

Napoli's victory meant all four Italian clubs won their Champions League matches this week.

Edin Dzeko scored a hat trick as Roma beat Viktoria Plzen 5-0, Paulo Dybala also netted three as Juventus beat Young Boys 3-0, and Inter beat PSV Eindhoven 2-1.

It is the first time since 2005 that four Italian clubs have won on a single Champions League matchday.

Napoli moved top of Group C with the win, and Ancelotti said he was happy that Serie A sides were proving their worth in Europe again.

"I'm pleased that all of the other Italian clubs are doing well," he said. "Things are changing in the European hierarchy, and that's good for our game."

"This win can give us a lot of strength -- it could be a turning point from a mental point of view. We've banged our fist on the table and made it understood that Napoli will also be in the fight for knockout rounds."
