Carlos Vela, Giovani dos Santos, Jonathan dos Santos in Mexico squad

Major League Soccer trio Carlos Vela, Giovani dos Santos and Jonathan dos Santos are all set to be involved for Mexico in its first game of 2018 next Wednesday against Bosnia and Herzegovina in San Antonio.

Mexico coach Juan Carlos Osorio recently visited the three players in Los Angeles, according to the Mexican federation, and LAFC (Vela) and LA Galaxy (Giovani and Jonathan) agreed to allow them to join El Tri for the friendly, which doesn't fall in the FIFA international calendar.

The rest of the Mexico squad will be announced on Thursday and is expected to be made up exclusively of players from Liga MX.

Vela and the Dos Santos brothers have all worked on their fitness in the offseason break to be ready for the friendly, even though the MLS season doesn't begin until early March.

The game against Bosnia will be the last ahead of the March friendlies against Iceland and Croatia, with Mexico preparing for its World Cup opener on June 17 against Germany.
