1. New York Red Bulls (+1)
The Red Bulls caught a break or two, but they more than earned a win on the road in front of Atlanta's big crowd. Bradley Wright-Phillips again lived up to the moment. A scary injury to Kemar Lawrence took some of the fun out of the win.
2. Atlanta United (-1)
Atlanta has now lost two consecutive games at home by multiple goals. That seemed unthinkable before the season started. United won't see the likes of the Red Bull press much this season, but that won't stop other teams from trying to copy New York's plan.
3. New York City FC (+1)
City's quality shined through against an overmatched Rapids side. The side's focus was encouraging given Patrick Vieira's future being a point of speculation.
4. Sporting Kansas City (-1)
Sporting was certainly targeting a win in Minnesota, but a point away from home will do. Getting Khiry Shelton on the score sheet for the first time is a good tradeoff for a team in need of goal scorers.
5. Columbus Crew SC (no change)
Zack Steffen's league-leading sixth shoutout helped Columbus to a narrow 1-0 win over New England on the road. The Crew has that trait successful teams need: capable of winning shootouts and low-scoring games.
The Philadelphia Union earned a valuable three points at home with a 4-1 win over Real Salt Lake.
6. Portland Timbers (+1)
Samuel Armenteros' first goal was worth the wait and the Timbers' slow start is now a distant memory. Up to third in the West for Giovanni Savarese & Co., with all the respect that comes with it.
7. LAFC (-1)
Bob Bradley's team acquitted itself well in Portland but fell victim to a rebound and a blast. Carlos Vela remains one of the league's brightest stars thanks to another wonder goal.
8. Orlando City (-2)
The Lions were certainly missing Dom Dwyer in Toronto against the defending champions. With the striker, perhaps they might have taken advantage of TFC's defensive frailty. Without him, the margin was too small to overcome.
9. Toronto FC (+3)
The Reds rode the efforts of local products to get a much-needed win in the absence of both Sebastian Giovinco and Jozy Altidore. It's a start, but Toronto will need much more where that came from.
10. FC Dallas (-1)
Up two goals in the final 10 minutes against Vancouver, FCD dropped two points with a clunk in a 2-2 draw. Reggie Cannon continued his rise with his first MLS goal.
11. Houston Dynamo (no change)
The Dynamo showed plenty of fight in a comeback win on the road in Chicago. The club's first away win of the season turned on the Honduran connection of Alberth Elis and Romell Quioto.
12. New England Revolution (-2)
The Revs found themselves in a tense game of well-matched teams with playoff aspirations and fell to a late Columbus goal. The next step for Brad Friedel's team is proving it can win exactly those types of games.
13. Vancouver Whitecaps (no change)
The Caps are an up-and-down side no one can quite figure out even a third of the way through the campaign. Anthony Blondell's savior act against FCD salvaged a point and played into the mystery.
14. Philadelphia Union (+1)
Four goals from the Union? It might have come against a terrible defensive team on the other side, but the attacking explosion gives hope for a brighter Philadelphia future. The Union now have a winning streak for the first time this season.
15. Real Salt Lake (-1)
A trip East went disastrously for Mike Petke's boys, with the defensive performance especially troubling. RSL's resurgence simply came too late for a team a long way from home.
16. LA Galaxy (no change)
Sigi Schmid's LA Galaxy will face Montreal on Victoria Day in Canada on Monday night.
17. Chicago Fire (no change)
Chicago went down, then up, on the Dynamo before ultimately losing by a 3-2 scoreline at Toyota Park. The Fire don't look like a team with much improvement available, a scary proposition with so many solid sides in the Eastern Conference.
18. Seattle Sounders (no change)
The Seattle Sounders got a much-needed week off ahead of their match against Real Salt Lake on Saturday.
19. Minnesota United (no change)
A draw against the West's best team is a great bit of progress for the Loons. Unfortunately, it's still only a single point at home and isn't good enough to improve Minnesota's immediate outlook.
20. D.C. United (+3)
Ben Olsen's team got a massive win on the road in San Jose. With everything aimed at the summer, United must get a win here or there to have a chance at making all those future home games matter. Replicating the result against better teams comes next.
21. San Jose Earthquakes (+1)
The Quakes' stock took another hit in a 3-1 home loss to DC United on Saturday. The standings don't lie: San Jose is a bad team. Head coach Mikael Stahre took responsibility for the loss, but there are lots of personnel issues in the team.
22. Montreal Impact (-1)
The Impact will play host to the Galaxy on Monday, looking to find the net after back-to-back shutouts.
23. Colorado Rapids (-1)
Colorado's trip to New York was wet and ugly, with the latter pertaining to more than just the weather. The Rapids were never really in the game against NYCFC, falling by multiple goals. Tim Howard looked lost, but the whole Colorado defense was a disaster.
