Liverpool's Alisson will be first choice in Champions League - Jurgen Klopp

Jurgen Klopp said he will not be rotating goalkeepers in the Premier League and Champions League group stages this season.

Klopp has abandoned his policy of altering goalkeepers, as Simon Mignolet began last season as first choice in the league while Loris Karius took over duties for European matches.

However, the arrival of Alisson from Roma for £65 million in July has altered the Liverpool manager's thinking.

When asked if he would rotate his goalkeepers this term, Klopp simply replied, "No."

With Karius having left Liverpool to join Besiktas on a two-year loan, Mignolet will spend the season as deputy to Alisson.

Academy goalkeepers Caoimhin Kelleher and Kamil Grabara train regularly at Melwood and are splitting starting duties for the under-23s side this season.

Meanwhile, Mignolet wanted to leave Liverpool in search of regular game time and said he found it "bizarre" that Karius was allowed to leave on loan when no such option was on the table for him.

Those comments led to Klopp criticising Mignolet for taking his complaints direct to the media instead of discussing his frustrations with management.

Liverpool's Champions League campaign begins on Sept. 18 when they host Paris Saint-Germain.
