Sadio Mane 'happy' at Liverpool amid Real Madrid rumours

Sadio Mane downplayed rumours of a possible move away from Liverpool amid Real Madrid interest, saying he is happy at the club.

Mane, 26, was a key player for Liverpool in their 2017-18 campaign, as Jurgen Klopp's team finished fourth in the Premier League and made it to the Champions League final only to lose to Real Madrid.

But the Senegal international, in Russia readying for his team's June 19 opener against Poland, said his immediate future lies at Anfield.

"I am very happy in Liverpool and my contract will last for three more years," he told Austrian newspaper Salzburger Nachrichten.

"But you never know what will happen in the future. I want to win trophies, especially the Champions League.

"To be honest, this defeat was not easy to put away. The whole club worked hard for this Champions League title, but Real Madrid were the better team that day.

"We lost to the best team in the world. The defeat is ticked off. Now it is time to play with Senegal [and have] a good and successful World Cup. That's my whole focus."
