Jamie Carragher to play for Liverpool Legends vs. Bayern Munich - source

Jamie Carragher will feature in a Liverpool Legends charity match at Anfield on Saturday as planned, a source has told ESPN FC.

Carragher has been suspended from his role as an analyst for British broadcaster Sky Sports until the end of the season after a video emerged of the 40-year-old spitting towards a Manchester United supporter's car, with it hitting a 14-year-old passenger.

But the former Liverpool and England defender -- who has since apologised both publicly and to the family involved -- is still set to play in Liverpool Legends' match with Bayern Munich on Saturday that will raise funds for charities the LFC Foundation and FC Bayern Hilfe.

Carragher is part of Liverpool's team, led by player-manager Ian Rush, that includes Steven Gerrard, Luis Garcia, Dirk Kuyt and Xabi Alonso, who will turn out for both sides on the day.

Bayern's side, meanwhile, will feature Lothar Matthaus, Bixente Lizarazu, Owen Hargreaves, Luca Toni, Martin Demichelis and others.

Ninety percent of the profits raised from the game will go towards the LFC Foundation, which aims to provide life-changing opportunities for young people, while the remaining amount will be donated to Bayern's official charity.
