Jurgen Klopp believes Liverpool have the strength in depth to handle the demands of challenging in four competitions.
Liverpool will begin their Carabao Cup campaign at Leicester City on Tuesday night, with Klopp expected to give fringe players game time at the King Power Stadium.
The Reds reached the two-legged semifinals last season before losing to Southampton, and Klopp insists rotating his players does not mean he is not taking the tournament seriously.
"From today's perspective yes, we have the resources, but we will see how it is again in January," Klopp is reported as saying by the Liverpool Echo.
"What is my alternative -- go to Leicester with a white flag and tell them if they want to go to the semifinals in January then do it because we don't want to be part of it?
"We have had a few different lineups and everything has been good in this competition in the last few years when we went to the final [in 2016, losing to Manchester City on penalties] and semifinal.
"At one point we didn't have the opportunity to line up with the strongest side and a lot of England legends said I didn't respect the cup competitions, which is obviously not so nice.
"But in this moment we have the squad to play in different competitions and to go as far as possible. That is the plan. No player who is involved tomorrow is involved because I hope we go out of this competition. We are going there to win the game.
"The competition is good. The final was good when we played there. The semifinal against Southampton last year was for us the wrong possible moment, that's true, but we couldn't change that.
"We will see how we are in January but at this moment I feel quite comfortable to use the players and bring players into different games."
One of the players who could feature at Leicester in midweek is striker Dominic Solanke. The 20-year-old striker could make his first start for Liverpool since his move from Chelsea in the summer.
The England youth international has made four substitute appearances for his new club so far, and nearly scored the winner against Burnley on the weekend, only to be denied by the crossbar.
"It's exciting, absolutely exciting. I'm really happy to have him around. He's a wonderful kid, that's how it is," Klopp told the club's official website of Solanke. "He takes the minutes -- each minute -- as an opportunity. That's the benefit of [his] age.
"When you are this age and you didn't play so often in the Premier League then it's a Premier League game in the stats, whether it's one minute, two minutes, it's five, it's 20. He doesn't care too much about this.
"You can see this, he's full of joy and quality, it was nice to see."
Danny Ward, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Marko Grujic will all start too, Klopp has said.
