Liverpool youngster Trent Alexander-Arnold has signed a long-term contract at Anfield, the Merseyside club have confirmed.
Alexander-Arnold, 18, signed a contract back in November, but has been rewarded with a new five-year deal as a result of his progress, sources have told ESPN FC.
The versatile full-back enjoyed a breakthrough season in 2016-17, making 12 appearances in total for Jurgen Klopp's side.
Alexander-Arnold has been at Liverpool since the age of six and grew up a short distance away from Melwood, the club's training ground.
Speaking to the club's official website after the new deal was announced, Alexander-Arnold said: "It's exciting, a proud moment for me and my family. I'm excited for the good times ahead, hopefully.
"But I've said before, the hard work definitely doesn't stop now. It's only just beginning. Hopefully I'll have many more moments like last season in this season and the seasons to come.
"I can't take it for granted, the position and opportunity I've been given. Every day I'm trying to maximise the opportunity and do well."
Writing his autobiography back in 2015, former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard earmarked Alexander-Arnold as a prospect to keep a close eye on.
"Trent Arnold has a terrific chance of making it as a top professional," Gerrard wrote. "He's quite leggy, but he's got a lovely frame and seems to have all the attributes you need.
"He has the right attitude and comes from West Derby, home to Melwood. So Trent is another Scouser and apparently, just as I tried to be John Barnes and Steve McMahon, he grew up pretending to be me while playing in the Merseyside parks.
"He can play as a number 6, a holding midfielder, but he's versatile and I've seen him fill various positions. I know England are all over him."
