Liverpool set for Premier League Asia Trophy with Palace, Leicester, WBA

Liverpool have confirmed they will head to Hong Kong to take part in this summer's Premier League Asia Trophy.

The preseason tournament will take place at the Hong Kong Stadium on July 19 and July 22.

Liverpool will make their second appearance in the competition, having first taken part in 2007, and are to be joined by Crystal Palace, Leicester City and West Bromwich Albion in Asia.

Liverpool's preseason plans are beginning to take shape after it was recently confirmed they will play Hertha Berlin in a friendly at the Olympiastadion Berlin on July 29 before competing in the Audi Cup at the Allianz Arena on Aug. 1 and 2 along with Bayern Munich, Atletico Madrid and reportedly AC Milan.

"We're really looking forward to playing in the Premier League Asia Trophy this summer," Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp said in a statement. "It's important that the club takes part in competitions like this as it gives local fans the opportunity to get closer to the action.

"The club has a huge fan base in Hong Kong and we hope to put on a good performance for our fans."

Premier League executive chairman Richard Scudamore added: "We are very excited to be returning to Hong Kong this summer for the Premier League Asia Trophy. We know from previous visits that fans in Hong Kong, and across the region, are passionate supporters of our clubs.

"In Crystal Palace, Leicester City, Liverpool and West Bromwich Albion we have a group of excellent clubs, players and managers who will give local fans a fantastic Premier League experience."
