Gor Mahia will not underrate Leones Vegetarianos - Kerr

Gor Mahia Football Club head coach Dylan Kerr has vowed that his players will not take Leones Vegetarianos lightly when the two teams face off in the return leg of their CAF Champions League Preliminary Round clash on Wednesday.

The Kenyan giants secured a 2-0 victory in the first leg at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos on February 10, but Kerr has assured supporters that they'll be taking nothing for granted in the second leg.

"I have told my players to take the return leg like a final because having a 2-0 advantage is not enough," Kerr told KweséESPN. "Football is a very funny sport and so we must take precaution.

"We need to keep focused and think about the first hurdle," he added. "We need to take our chances this time because we created several chances in the first leg and only scored two goals."

The winners of the clash will meet either ASAC Concorde of Mauritania or Tunisian giants Esperance in the next round.

Gor were dealt a blow ahead of the fixture after key striker Jacques Tuyisenge was ruled out with injury.

"It is unfortunate that Jacques is out injured, but the other players know what I expect of them," Kerr added.

The Rwanda international injured his knee during a Kenyan Premier League match against Zoo FC last Thursday, although the likes of Meddie Kagere, George Odhiambo, Boniface Omondi and Ivorian Ephrem Guikan have the quality to step into key roles.
