Juventus captain Giorgio Chiellini has said he is uncertain about his international future and is considering retiring from Italy duty.
Chiellini, 33, did not feature in Roberto Mancini's first Italy squad, but he may still have a future in the Squadra Azzurra.
However, he admits he does not know whether representing his country is still in his best interests as he plans on meeting with Mancini for talks.
"I'm a bit undecided," he told Sky Sport Italia. "There are arguments for and against both options. I'm no spring chicken and it would also be fine if Mancini decided to focus on younger players because there are a lot of good ones around in my position.
"I'm feeling good and will discuss this subject with the coach and with great serenity and a level head."
Chiellini inherited the Juve captain's armband this summer following Gianluigi Buffon's departure to Paris Saint-Germain.
He will be hoping to succeed where Buffon did not by lifting the Champions League trophy in May, and he feels the arrival of five-time winner Cristiano Ronaldo could give them the boost they need to lift it for the first time since 1996.
"Positive enthusiasm is always very welcome -- we needed it," Chiellini said. "This group [of players], after many years together, needed a spark and the arrival of this new energy is going to provide that for everybody.
"[It provides] the inspiration to raise our own game and to push ourselves beyond our limits.
"But to presume that we've already won the Champions League would be the biggest mistake, although I don't think this team, with this coach, will run that risk."
