Nigeria stun Argentina; Russia-Spain, Germany-France, England-Brazil draws

Alex Iwobi scored twice as Nigeria rallied from a two-goal deficit to beat Argentina 4-2 in a friendly in Russia on Tuesday.

Playing without the rested Lionel Messi, Argentina opened the scoring in the 28th minute when Ever Banega scored from a free kick, and it was 2-0 shortly afterward when Cristian Pavon crossed for Sergio Aguero to tap in.

But Nigeria turned it around when Kelechi Iheanacho put a free kick past keeper Agustin Marchesin before the break, then set up Iwobi and Brian Idowu to score two minutes apart early in the second half.

Iheanacho found Iwobi in the centre of the box to equalise with a first-time shot, then Idowu pounced to score from 18 yards after the Leicester man's loose touch fell to his feet.

Iwobi then added his second goal in the 73rd minute after wrong-footing Javier Mascherano.

Argentina, who lost their first friendly since 2014, said after the game that Aguero was taken to hospital as a precaution after fainting at half-time.

Fedor Smolov scored two fine goals to help World Cup hosts Russia earn a 3-3 draw with Spain, despite a pair of Sergio Ramos penalties.

Jordi Alba's header gave Spain the lead in the ninth minute, and it was 2-0 in the 35th as Sergio Ramos converted a penalty after Daler Kuzyaev stuck out an arm.

Smolov showed good control in the box to pull a goal back four minutes before the break, and Russia were even six minutes into the second half when Aleksey Miranchuk scored at the near post.

Spain retook the lead two minutes later, Ramos again scoring from the spot after drawing a Giorgi Jikia foul himself, but Russia had the final say as Smolov sent in a rocket from distance past the reach of David De Gea to equalise once more.

After goalkeeper Andrey Lunev was injured in a collision, Russia finished the final moments with midfielder Denis Glushakov playing between the posts.

Substitute Lars Stindl kept Germany unbeaten in 2017 by scoring in the 93rd minute to secure a 2-2 draw with France.

Alexandre Lacazette had given Les Bleus the lead in the 33rd minute after being set up in a fine play by Anthony Martial. Timo Werner drew Germany level early in the second half from a fine pass by Mesut Ozil.

France regained the lead on 71 minutes as Mbappe found Lacazette in space behind a high German rearguard and the Arsenal forward produced a clinical finish from just inside the penalty area.

However, with only seconds left to play of stoppage time, Ozil laid a pass with the outside of his left boot to Gotze, who helped the ball on into the right side of the France penalty area, and Stindl had the composure to score inside the near post and earn the world champions a draw.

England and Brazil played out a drab goalless draw at Wembley -- the second in four days for the Three Lions after the 0-0 draw with Germany on Friday.

It was a game of few goal-mouth opportunities, though Brazil dominated the ball and looked far more threatening.

Without Cristiano Ronaldo, Portgual settled for a 1-1 draw with an experimental United States squad.

Weston McKennie scored on his debut to put the U.S. ahead midway through the first half after a fine individual effort, and Portugal's only response came 10 minutes later as Vitorino Antunes' soft cross into the box squirmed under U.S. keeper Ethan Horvath.

Romelu Lukaku headed home Nacer Chadli's lofted pass for the only goal in the 72nd minute as Belgium beat Japan 1-0.

Belgium touted Lukaku as their all-time top scorer, but FIFA wiped out three goals he scored in a friendly in 2014. That leaves him officially on 28 goals, still two short of Paul van Himst and Bernard Voorhoof's joint record.

Netherlands eased to a 3-0 win in Romania with second-half headers from Memphis Depay, Ryan Babel and Luuk de Jong, with Steven Berghuis setting up all three.

Depay scored two minutes after the break following good play on the wing by Berghuis, who then also set up Babel to net his first international goal since 2008. Berghuis' then delivered a free kick for De Jong to add a third.

Luis Schaub curled in a winner from a long free kick that sailed untouched through the box to give Austria a 2-1 win over Uruguay.

The hosts had taken the lead in Vienna through Marcel Sabitzer's fifth minute goal, but Edinson Cavani headed home to equalise five minutes later, and it stayed level untli Schaub's goal.

South Korea and Serbia drew 1-1 after scoring within five minutes of each other in the second half in Ulsan.

Serbia midfielder Adem Ljajic scored first in the 57th minute, and Koo Ja-Cheol equalised from the penalty spot after drawing a foul from Jagos Vukovic.

Son Heung-Min, who scored both goals when South Korea defeated Colombia 2-1 on Friday, missed a late chance to give the home side another win.

Colombia rebounded from the South Korea defeat by beating China 4-0 in Chongqing.

Felipe Pardo put the Colombians ahead with a shot from a tight angle after only six minutes, before Carlos Bacca scored on a counter-attack in the second half.

Miguel Borja made it 3-0 with a powerful half-volley from 20 yards, then added Colombia's fourth in stoppage time.

Juan Cuadrado missed the game after suffering a thigh injury, and he will return to Juventus for scans.

Chris Coleman marked what could be his final game as Wales manager with a 1-1 draw against World Cup finalists Panama.

Tom Lawrence's 75th-minute solo strike -- his second Wales goal -- looked like settling a hard-fought friendly in Cardiff. But Wales, who saw Sam Vokes fail to convert a first-half penalty, were pegged back in the third minute of stoppage time when Armando Cooper rifled past Darren Ward.

Top MLS scorer Nemanja Nikolic redirected a free kick to give Hungary a 1-0 win over Costa Rica.

Stanislav Lobotka scored in the final minute of stoppage time to give Slovakia a 1-0 win over Norway.

Mohammed Muntari scored in the 91st minute to help Qatar salvage a 1-1 draw with Iceland, while United Arab Emirates beat Uzbekistan 1-0.
