Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah is considering Huddesfield Town striker Collin Quaner for Black Stars duty after meeting with the player in England.

Appiah met up with the Germany-born forward during a tour of Ghanaian players to the UK recently, to scope out the chances of a nationality switch.

"We had a good discussion and he is willing to play for Ghana," Appiah told KweséESPN.

"The Ghana Football Association will now have to handle the paperwork required because so that he can be eligible for us."

The paperwork for a nationality switch is required because Quaner has previously played for Germany at U-20 level.

Quaner was born in Dusseldorf to Ghanaian parents and is thus eligible for the Black Stars, provided the red tape is cleared.

Appiah confirmed he also held discussions with Leeds United striker Caleb Ekuban, and Burnley striker Daniel Agyei, who is currently on loan at Blackpool.

Appiah has set his sights on strengthening Ghana's forward line, with an eye to the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations after missing out on qualification for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
