Germany general manager Oliver Bierhoff has suggested national team coach Joachim Low will not leave his post to join Bayern Munich following the 2018 World Cup in Russia. Following the sacking of Carlo Ancelotti in September, 72-year-old Jupp Heynckes took over his old club Bayern until the end of the campaign. Despite calls for the 2013 Treble winner to stay at Bayern beyond next summer, the interim boss has dismissed such suggestions, and CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has also confirmed that the club will go into the 2018-19 season with a new coach. In recent days, Low has been linked to Bayern along with Thomas Tuchel, Julian Nagelsmann and Ralph Hasenhuttl, but speaking to reporters, Bierhoff seemed to dismiss the idea that the 2014 World Cup winner will vacate his post with Germany. "I would not assume that he will leave us," he said. "And I would not want to give him away without a fight. On top of that, I feel that he's enjoying his work here." Low has been with the German Football Association since 2004, first as an assistant coach and then as head coach, and is under contract until 2020. Bayern defender Mats Hummels, meanwhile, has said that whoever comes in as the new coach will require a complete skillset to manage the various challenges at Germany's biggest club. "A coach, no matter where, always needs a concept on the pitch, maybe even more than just one. But before anything else, at a club like Bayern, he must have good leadership skills," the former Borussia Dortmund captain told reporters. "It's not always that easy with so many veteran players, with so many egos, and that's not even in a negative sense, but rather with a certain confidence. To handle this, that's the great task at Munich."
