France's Kylian Mbappe 'fine' after leaving training with a knock

France forward Kylian Mbappe says he's "fine" after he was forced to leave training early on Tuesday following a tackle by teammate Adil Rami.

Mbappe, 19, hurt his left ankle and went back to the dressing room rather than continuing the session, according to L'Equipe.

But the Paris-Saint Germain winger later tweeted to say the injury was only a knock, and gave no indication that he could miss France's opener against Australia on Saturday.

"I am doing fine, it was just a knock, so nothing serious but thank you for your messages," he tweeted, while also urging fans to "lay off my friend Adil Rami as it was not malicious."

Earlier this week, Mbappe played down another "knock" he received in Les Bleus' 1-1 draw with the United States in their final World Cup warm-up on Saturday, while coach Didier Deschamps spoke out in defence of goalkeeper and captain Hugo Lloris following his error in Lyon.

Mbappe scored the leveller after being teed up by Stuttgart's Benjamin Pavard and was nursing a knock by the end of the encounter, which he insisted is nothing to worry about ahead of the trip to Russia.

"Ice packs? No, it is just a knock," Mbappe said. "I hit the ball poorly and I fell -- it is nothing serious. It will be treated, and it will go away."
