Kevin De Bruyne votes Mohamed Salah as PFA Player of the Year

Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne has told BT Sport he had no option but to vote for rival Mohamed Salah as PFA Player of the Year.

De Bruyne has seven Premier League goals and 15 assists to his name this season and has been the driving force behind City's march to the Premier League title.

But Salah's goal-scoring performance for Liverpool has been outstanding in his debut season at Anfield, plundering 29 goals and setting up nine others in the league.

Even though De Bruyne knows he has given a vote to the man most likely to pip him to the award, he says he had to recognise the Egyptian's performance.

"I vote for Salah, I wouldn't know how to choose anybody else," De Bruyne said.

"He's up there with [Harry] Kane, me and David [Silva]. They are the four best players of the season, constantly, and I'm honest when I'm voting, I just vote for him if he deserves it.

"In the end, if other people don't do it, I don't mind!"
