ESPN+ reaches new deal with FA Cup, including final and Community Shield

ESPN+ has reached a new multiyear deal to stream FA Cup matches -- including the FA Cup final -- in the United States.

Coverage for the 2018-19 tournament will begin on Nov. 10 with first-round matches and conclude with the final at Wembley Stadium in London on May 18, 2019.

The deal also includes the FA Community Shield, the annual match between FA Cup and Premier League champions to start the English football season.

The FA Cup competition is the oldest domestic cup tournament in the world, and was first played in 1871-72. Over 700 clubs in England are registered for the tournament.

Chelsea are the defending title-holders and have won the competition eight times. Arsenal hold the most titles at 13.

Last week, ESPN+ announced a new multiyear agreement with Serie A that includes more than 340 Italian matches per year, beginning with Cristiano Ronaldo's league debut with Juventus this Saturday.
