U.S.'s Timothy Chandler injures knee with Eintracht Frankfurt

Timothy Chandler suffered a knee injury in Eintracht Frankfurt's 2-2 draw with Borussia Dortmund on Saturday.

The United States international went down without being touched in the 35th minute and grabbed his knee. He was helped off the field by two trainers before being replaced by Carlos Salcedo.

After Eintracht stormed back to salvage a 2-2 draw, coach Niko Kovac said Chandler had twisted his knee, and the club would await further diagnosis on Sunday.

The Bundesliga's official website said Chandler "could be set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines after sustaining what appeared to be a knee ligament injury."

Chandler withdrew from the U.S. national team squad in May with a hamstring injury, but though he has started all of Eintracht games this season, he was not selected in the team that failed to qualify for the World Cup earlier this month.
