Without a win in the Premier League since August, confidence wouldn't have been high for Huddersfield ahead of Manchester United's visit. Jose Mourinho's team had failed to win just two games this season -- collecting two draws away to Stoke and Liverpool -- with their form on the road not matching their 100 percent record at Old Trafford.
Yet it is hard to argue with Huddersfield's 2-1 win. United dominated possession but it was Huddersfield who put away their chances, taking advantage of two poor individual errors from Juan Mata and Victor Lindelof. With 75 percent of the ball, United found themselves 2-0 down with just over half an hour played.
The injury and substitution to Phil Jones was a turning point for the away team, with United's defence struggling to cope and looking uneasy for the rest of the game.
Marcus Rashford, who came on at half-time, pulled a goal back for United but Jonas Lossl had hardly anything to do over the 90 minutes. Huddersfield deserved the win and Mourinho has a lot to think about before Tottenham Hotspur's visit next weekend.
Positives
Very little for United fans to be pleased with on Saturday afternoon, although Rashford is already only four goals short of equalling his tally from last season as his good goal scoring form continues.
Negatives
For all the possession they had, United hardly created any clear-cut chances. That says something about Huddersfield's defending but more about United's inability to be clinical in front of goal.
Jones' injury is a real frustration, given how many other defenders United are already without, and the lack of cover they now have. Lindelof is a long way from being good enough at the moment.

5 -- Mourinho's decision to take the foot of the gas at Anfield, following a brilliant start to the campaign, has seemingly allowed United to stall. He hasn't been helped with injuries but you have to think Rashford would have been a better option from the start

GK David De Gea, 6 -- Made a great stop from Tom Ince just before Huddersfield took the lead. Couldn't have done anything about either goal.
DF Antonio Valencia, 6 -- Read the game well to make some important interceptions. Got down the right wing well but his delivery was poor.
DF Phil Jones, 5 -- Subbed off after 23 minutes with an injury he suffered when overstretching to win the ball.
DF Chris Smalling, 6 -- Defensively he was OK. Played up front for the final five minutes. Had a chance to equalise in the dying seconds but his shot was blocked after he hesitated.
DF Ashley Young, 5 -- Delivered some decent crosses in to the box but at other times was wasteful.
MF Ander Herrera, 5 -- Should have won United a penalty at 2-0 when bowled over in the box. Shifted to defence for the second half, before returning to midfield. Didn't control the game as his average form this season continues.
MF Nemanja Matic, 7 -- Played a lovely ball over the top to Romelu Lukaku to set up United's first chance. So important for United defensively and in terms of getting the ball forward but his teammates weren't up to his standard.
FW Juan Mata, 4 -- Lost the ball cheaply with a poor touch to allow Huddersfield in for their first goal. Hooked at half-time after doing very little positive.
FW Jesse Lingard, 4 -- Showed lots of speed when bringing the ball forward but his final pass wasn't good enough.
FW Anthony Martial, 5 -- Taken off at half-time after an average display. His early booking and repeated fouls that followed likely swayed Mourinho's decision.
FW Romelu Lukaku, 6 -- Decent early chance for Lukaku but it went straight to the goalkeeper. Delivered a perfect cross to set up Rashford for his goal but he didn't get the service to make a difference.
Substitutes
DF Victor Lindelof, 3 -- Replaced an injured Jones. Turned inside out by Ince ahead of the first goal and his failure to head away the danger lead to Huddersfield's second. Made some better defensive contributions in the second half.
FW Henrikh Mkhitaryan, 4 -- Came on at half-time but didn't really do anything. Gave away a free kick in injury time which United could have done without.
FW Marcus Rashford, 7 -- Also came on at half-time. Scored his seventh goal of the season when getting on the end of Lukaku's cross.
