Liverpool blew a three-goal lead in a way it seems only they can. Sevilla don't have an impressive home record without some skill and passion but they really should have been well out of contention.
Positives
A glorious first-half display of counter-attacking football that fully justified the Jurgen Klopp's positive team selection and despite all the despair of a frantic ending, it should be remembered Liverpool top the group and remain favourites to progress.
Negatives
Alberto Moreno destroyed months of career resuscitation in 10 awful minutes and question marks over how the Reds overall deal with pressure and set-pieces came bubbling back to the surface.

6 -- Klopp helplessly watched his team self-destruct but acted quickly to stop Moreno doing any more damage. Sevilla's most influential player Ever Banega had the run of the pitch in the second half and Klopp seemed unwilling or unable to do anything to stop it.

GK Loris Karius, 7 -- Made one excellent save at 1-0, tipping a shot onto the post and pouncing on the rebound. Made another vital stop when the home side were heaping enormous pressure upon Liverpool in the second half. All to no avail, as the team imploded in front of him.
DF Joe Gomez, 7 -- Oddly, had one or two nervous moments in the largely comfortable first half and then stood strong in a worrying second. All the problems were on the other side of the pitch.
DF Dejan Lovren, 6 -- Did his best as the home side became stronger in the second half, but it was almost as if everyone was taken by surprise. Didn't provide enough leadership when the defence was under the cosh but made no excruciating errors like at Tottenham. All the critics will be out in force tonight but he could hardly be blamed for any of the mistakes which eventually cost his team.
DF Ragnar Klavan, 7 -- The sturdier of the centre-halves tonight, he probably benefited from his lack of ability by simply clearing his lines whenever danger threatened. Given who was playing on his left side, should be rewarded for not losing the plot entirely.
DF Alberto Moreno, 3 -- Ah, there he is. The Moreno that appeared to have been flung into the dustbin of history emerged with an awful vengeance. Committed a poor foul then lost his man for the first Sevilla goal, he went one "better" by gifting them a penalty for the second. Was hauled off before he could do his old club any more favours.
MF Jordan Henderson, 5 -- Very much a game of two halves; industrious and determined in one, bewildered and tired for the other. A positive lineup from his manager could have given him numerous problems but he dealt with them well until the team simply stopped playing. Invisible in adversity isn't what you want from a captain.
MF Georginio Wijnaldum, 5 -- Another away game, another almost invisible performance from the Dutchman. Emre Can might have been a better option but in fairness few were complaining at half-time.
MF Philippe Coutinho, 7 -- Two accurate corners and a decisive pass created all three Liverpool goals yet his general touch wasn't all it can be. Helped in central midfield with some untypical pressing but was taken off with Moreno as a sweeping Klopp statement on Liverpool's left-hand side.
FW Sadio Mane, 7 -- Looked a little tired throughout the second half, contributing to Liverpool's inability to relieve the pressure upon themselves. Had looked full of fire and pace in the opening 45 minutes and took his goal well. Missed a good chance on 80 minutes that might have sealed all three points.
FW Mohamed Salah, 5 -- Not at his best, a couple of wild shots and generally quiet. One or two chances to ease the second-half pressure and might have been substituted even earlier.
FW Roberto Firmino, 8 -- Easily the best performer of the first half, two confidently taken goals and a flicked header onto Mane for the second, he was everywhere and Sevilla had no answer for the Brazilian. Barely saw the ball as Liverpool endeavoured to squander the advantage Firmino had given them.
Substitutes:
MF James Milner, 6 -- Actually seemed to help settle the ship after replacing Moreno, he came forward with a bit more gusto than the Spaniard too.
MF Emre Can, 5 -- Part of a double substitution meant to calm the game down, it worked to a point but the German actually didn't do an awful lot. Disappointing for Sevilla's equaliser.
MF Alex Oxlade Chamberlain, NR -- Replaced a tired, ineffectual Salah but little time to make any impact nor help Liverpool preserve their lead.
