Bayern Munich, Germany teammates express sympathy for Manuel Neuer

Manuel Neuer won't be able to play for Bayern Munich until at least January after breaking his left foot. Judging by his teammates' reactions, he will be missed.

Several players wished the Bayern goalkeeper and Germany international well on social media on Tuesday, not long after he underwent surgery and the team announced the extent of his injury.

Neuer injured the foot in training over the weekend and only last month returned from a similar injury sustained during Bayern's Champions League quarterfinal second-leg defeat to Real Madrid in April.

Get well soon @manuelneuer 🙌🏻

In a statement released by the team, Bayern CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge expressed his sympathy for Neuer's situation.

"Manuel Neuer has sustained another injury and we're incredibly sorry for him," Rummenigge said. "The operation went perfectly, which is the most important thing for now. We and our captain are now looking to the future. Manuel will be back to his previous best and available to us again in January."
