Atletico Madrid's Angel Correa head and shoulders above the rest vs. Levante

Atletico Madrid ensured Champions League football will be back at the Wanda Metropolitano next season as they swept aside Levante 3-0 at home on Sunday afternoon.

After a dismal display in Lisbon in midweek it was back to business for Atleti, who never really looked troubled by their visitors and duly took a deserved lead through Angel Correa's first-half strike.

Antoine Griezmann was then harshly judged to have dived as he appeared to be wiped out as he rounded the goalkeeper, but then produced a moment of magic to make it 2-0 just after the break. Substitute Fernando Torres put the icing on the cake late on as he swept home on the volley as Atleti maintain their grip on second place.

Positives

Back to winning ways with a clean sheet and a place at Europe's top table for next year assured. Happy days.

Negatives

Lucas Hernandez's suspension leaves the side light at the back next week.

Manager rating out of 10

8 -- The side Diego Simeone picked got the job done. With the Champions League assured next season, the focus must surely turn to the Europa League semis now?

Player ratings (1-10; 10 = best. Players introduced after 70 minutes get no rating)

GK Jan Oblak, 6 -- Did what was required with the minimum of fuss, as he always does. A remarkable 20th clean sheet this season.

DF Sime Vrsaljko, 7 -- Was able to attack at will. Put in a great ball for Griezmann to score and was a constant threat all afternoon.

DF Stefan Savic, 6 -- Dealt with the little attacking threat the visitors posed with ease.

DF Diego Godin, 7 -- One great block at 1-0 that might have changed the game. Otherwise was largely untroubled.

DF Lucas Hernandez, 6 -- Booked and now misses the next match, which is not ideal given the club's injury situation. Then lucky to avoid injury as he got taken out himself.

MF Angel Correa, 9 -- Wonderful showing. A great finish to open the scoring after a nice turn left three defenders wrong-footed. Showed great desire and pace to tee up Torres for the third, too.

MF Koke, 7 -- Helped keep the ball moving in the middle of the park but visibly tired after his midweek exertions. Taken off with half an hour to go.

MF Saul Niguez, 6 -- Neat and tidy without every really excelling. One of a few players who are just looking a little leggy of late. Should perhaps be rested for the Europa League with Champions League football now sealed for next season.

MF Vitolo 7 -- A much better outing. Produced a good direct run to help setup Correa for the opener before going close on a couple of occasions himself. Needs to use this as a platform, rather than a false dawn.

FW Antoine Griezmann, 7 -- Harshly deemed to have dived when he rounded the keeper on the break and was booked in the first half. More than made up for it when he smashed home Atletico's second. Another who was given the final half hour off.

FW Kevin Gameiro, 6 -- The ball just would not quite bounce for him. Worked tirelessly and got himself into some good positions, but the final ball to him was lacking.

Substitutes

FW Fernando Torres (for Griezmann), 7 -- Delighted the crowd as he spectacularly volleyed in from close range to seal the three points.

MF Gabi (for Koke), 6 -- Initially looked a little sloppy and gave the ball away a couple of times before regaining his usual composure.

MF Juanfran (for Vitolo), NR -- Brought on late and given a bit of license to roam forwards in a more advanced position.
