Liverpool will be 'more intense' than Manchester United - Brighton's Leon Balogun

Brighton & Hove Albion's Premier League game against Liverpool on Saturday will be "more intense" than their clash with Manchester United, defender Leon Balogun said.

Balogun made his league debut as a substitute in Brighton's 3-2 home win over United on Sunday when he entered in the 20th minute for the injured Lewis Dunk.

The Nigeria international, who spent the last three seasons at Mainz, believed the Premier League would be faster than the Bundsliga -- but when he shared his thoughts with his teammates, "they told me this is always the kind of game you play against United," he told the Guardian. "They like to slow it down a little bit sometimes."

United were criticised for their performance on Sunday because they showed a lack of fight and determination in the second half, but Brighton manager Chris Hughton praised his players' tempo after the victory.

Balogun, who made his Bundesliga debut in 2009, is familiar with Jurgen Klopp's tactics and expects a different approach by Brighton's next opponents.

"Liverpool is going to be completely different," he said. "I know how Klopp likes to play. It's going to be a lot quicker and a lot more intense."
