Gladbach's Max Eberl fined for insulting Julian Nagelsmann in touchline row

The German FA (DFB) has fined Borussia Monchengladbach sporting director Max Eberl €5,000 after he insulted Hoffenheim coach Julian Nagelsmann during the sides' 3-3 draw earlier this month.

Eberl and Nagelsmann clashed on the touchline at Borussia Park and TV microphones picked up the Gladbach man calling the 30-year-old "a little a-------."

The DFB opened an investigation and on Monday said Eberl had been punished for "unsporting behaviour towards the opponent's coach."

Following the incident, Nagelsmann said he had not heard the insult and added that the touchline clash was "nothing dramatic."

However, Eberl said sorry and called his outburst "a mistake."
