Borussia Dortmund coach Peter Bosz won't 'waste thought' on job fears

Borussia Dortmund coach Peter Bosz has said he does not fear for his job and is "only focused" on Saturday's derby against Schalke.

BVB have dropped from first to fifth in the Bundesliga and crashed out of the Champions League during a turbulent run of form, with Bosz coming under increasing pressure.

But asked at a news conference before his team host second-placed Schalke whether Dortmund had given him an ultimatum to start winning again, he said: "No.

"I don't waste any thought on it [being sacked]. I am a football coach. I know it can happen. It has also happened in the past to big coaches.

"I am only focused on the match tomorrow. This is the one we have to win by all means, and all of us have to give it our all."

He urged his players to take a leaf out of their opponents' book, saying: "Schalke win their matches. They've won four of their last five, I think.

"Schalke are a team. If we work as team, with our quality we can beat Schalke."

Ahead of last week's defeat at Stuttgart, attacker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was temporarily suspended for disciplinary issues, but scored on his return in the Champions League defeat to Tottenham on Tuesday.

Aubameyang did not appear happy, but Bosz denied any dressing room problems and said the "atmosphere in the team is still good."

He added: "On Tuesday, I saw an Auba who was better than in the previous games. Not only because he scored -- he was dangerous. The team needs a good Auba."

Keeper Roman Burki, defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos and United States international Christian Pulisic are doubts for the match.
