Carlos Tevez scores first goal of third Boca spell in San Lorenzo draw

Carlos Tevez scored his first goal in his third spell Boca Juniors after returning from the Chinese Super League when he equalised in Sunday's 1-1 draw at San Lorenzo.

In only his second game since coming back to his boyhood club again, former Manchester City, Manchester United and Juventus star Tevez headed home Leonardo Jara's cross a day before his 34th birthday.

It was his first goal for Boca since Dec. 18, 2016 when he scored in a 4-1 win against Colon, his final game before signing a two-year contract with Chinese side Shanghai Shenhua.

"I saw Tevez very well," Boca coach Guillermo Barros Schelotto said after the San Lorenzo game.

"When he played as a No. 9 he scored, and when he played further back, he managed the ball."

Tevez celebrated the goal and his birthday with a party on Monday, taking advantage of the team's day off.

Boca president Daniel Angelici and Argentina Football Association (AFA) president Claudio Tapia were also in attendance.

Tevez, who also played for Boca from 2001-04 and 2015-16, is hoping to make the Argentina squad for this summer's World Cup.
