The transfer window for all of Europe's big five leagues is now closed, but that doesn't stop Transfer Talk from rummaging through the remains of the summer window to scrounge up the earliest bit of gossip about who will be moving where come January.
Juventus plot Marcelo-Pogba double swoop
Juventus pulled off the coup of the summer, signing Cristiano Ronaldo away from Real Madrid. The sequel is already in the works, apparently, as Juve will try to re-sign Paul Pogba from Manchester United and lure Marcelo away from Madrid, says Tuttosport.
It'd be a familiar route for Pogba, who of course began his career with United, then went to Juventus for four seasons, then returned to Old Trafford in 2016. While the Manchester Evening News reports that Juventus midfielder Blaise Matuidi has "joked" with Pogba about the United midfielder's Champions League return to Turin in November, the paper also notes that Matuidi shares the same agent as Pogba in Mino Raiola.
As for Marcelo, it might be that his close relationship with Ronaldo helps persuade the left-back to move to Italy.
Gundogan to spurn Barca, stay at City
Ilkay Gundogan is primed to reject interest from Barcelona in January and instead open talks about a new deal with Manchester City, the Sun says.
The German midfielder is also wanted by AC Milan and several clubs across the Bundesliga, but he is said to be keen to remain at the Etihad under Pep Guardiola.
Chelsea, Bayern join Rabiot race
Thomas Tuchel aims to keep Adrien Rabiot despite his Paris Saint-Germain contract winding down, Sport says, but Bayern Munich and Chelsea have emerged as the latest sides interested.
Mundo Deportivo reports that both clubs have joined the extensive list of admirers of the French midfielder, along with Barcelona, Juventus and Manchester City. Still, the PSG coach hopes to keep the player and insists that the 23-year-old is "essential for our approach."
Villa maintain Terry hope
John Terry could still re-sign for Aston Villa after his move to Spartak Moscow encountered problems.
Terry passed a medical, but the Mirror writes about a report out of Russia that Terry's family have concerns about the proposed move to Russia.
Spartak are growing impatient ahead of Friday's deadline to register players for the Premier League. Summer signing Samuel Gigot is out for a while after suffering a cruciate ligament injury, and Terry is seen as the ideal short-term solution in defence.
Pochettino eyes Herrera
Tottenham want to sign Porto midfielder Hector Herrera, Sky Sports reports, citing a story in Italy.
Spurs could sign the Mexican on a free transfer next summer, with the 28-year-old so far resisting remaining at the Estadio do Dragao. Inter Milan are also keen, but unlike the Italians, Spurs are not restricted by already filling their non-EU quota in their squad, with official negotiations permitted from Jan. 31.

Icardi is one of Europe's most highly rated forwards, and the Italians want to extend his deal by two years to 2023, while Skriniar, who has blossomed since his move from Sampdoria, could earn a new deal despite four years remaining on his contract.
