Transfer Talk: Chelsea to thwart Manchester City's Jorginho hopes?

The transfer window is open, and Transfer Talk has the latest rumours making the rounds. Follow along with our daily blog throughout the summer.

Chelsea to thwart City's Jorginho hopes?

Chelsea could scupper Manchester City's plans to sign Napoli midfielder Jorginho, says the Manchester Evening News.

City have yet to agree a deal for the Italy international, who "is known to have his heart set on joining the Blues after agreeing personal terms with them weeks ago."

A gulf remains between the clubs over the player's valuation, with City believing he should cost £35 million but Napoli rating him at nearer £50m.

The Evening News says "that could lead to a wrangle between Jorginho's agent and the Serie A club" -- and it has brought about reports that Chelsea "are trying to hijack the deal."

22.55 BST: Still without a clear manager, Chelsea's summer has been a muddled one to say the least.

With Antonio Conte -- oddly -- still acting as manager at present, the club have yet to make a signing but one could be on the way.

With rumours Maurizio Sarri is soon set to take over as boss, Juventus defender Daniele Rugani has been linked with a £35 million move to Stamford Bridge.

The 23-year-old defender has an admirer in Sarri, who has seen plenty of the player up close and personal the last few years in Serie A.

In fact, Rugani played 81 games while on loan at Empoli under Sarri between 2013-15.

Could a reunion be on the cards? Don't rule it out as with Juve signing Cristiano Ronaldo, ex-Sarri charges Gonzalo Higuain and Jorginho have also been linked heavily with a move to London.

The versatile Luiz, now 31, just missed Ancelotti during his first stint at Chelsea.

22.00 BST: According to Goal.com, Everton are closing in on signing Colombia World Cup star Yerry Mina for £21 million.

The 23-year-old centre-back scored three goals at the World Cup for Los Cafeteros but is already unhappy at Barcelona after just arriving in January.

Everton could use a new centre-back as well with Ashley Williams nearly 34 and Ramiro Funes Mori having left the club earlier this window.

21.24 BST: -- DONE DEAL -- Minnesota United have signed their second-ever Designated Player in Colombian forward Angelo Rodriguez.

The 29-year-old comes to MLS from Colombian side Deportes Tolima, where he has scored 28 goals in 64 appearances.

According to reports, the 22-year-old Brazilian has just completed his medical at Tyneside and would be Toon's third signing of the summer.

Despite repeated attempts by Newcastle, there appears to be no buy clause in the loan deal, as Chelsea seem unwilling to part with the player permanently.

17.40 BST: -- DONE DEAL -- Liverpool have signed promising young forward Harry Wilson to a contract extension.

The 21-year-old starred last season on loan at Hull scoring seven goals in 13 appearances and recently scored twice in Liverpool's preseason opener against Chester FC.

PAPER TALK: Everton join chase for Eagles star Zaha

Tottenham, Chelsea, Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool have all been linked with Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha -- and now Everton are in the frame, according to the Mirror.

It reports that boss Marco Silva "is desperate to land Zaha" but faces a struggle to convince him to leave London for the North of England after his unhappy spell at Manchester United.

Silva is looking to revamp his attack and sees Ivory Coast international Zaha, who sparkled as Palace staved off relegation, as an ideal fit.

But the Mirror adds that the Eagles "are battling to keep their prized asset on a new £125,000-a-week deal, and are reluctant to sell him."

Meanwhile, Sky Sports says Fenerbahce are interested in Everton winger Yannick Bolasie and could soon table an offer.

Hammers set to add more new faces

With the deal to sign Jack Wilshere done, is that the end of West Ham's summer business?

Not at all, says the London Evening Standard, which reports that they "are poised to sign Ukraine winger Andriy Yarmolenko from Borussia Dortmund for £17.5m."

Yarmolenko, who moved to Dortmund from Dynamo Kiev last year, could be joined by Corinthians central defender Fabian Balbuena, with the Standard reporting that West Ham have agreed a fee of around £3m.

And the Mirror says the Londoners "are edging closer" to signing Felipe Anderson from Lazio.

Talks are at an advanced stage as the clubs attempt to agree a fee for the midfielder -- also linked with Manchester United and Chelsea -- which would likely break the West Ham record.
