Transfer Rater: Isco to Manchester United, Leon Bailey to Liverpool

Things change in the blink of an eye in football. The Football Whispers Index takes the latest transfer rumours and gives them a score out of five; the higher the score, the more realistic and reliable the whisper.

Here are today's top five emerging whispers. And keep an eye on Transfer Talk  for all the latest gossip.

Fred to Manchester City

According to The Times, Manchester City are close to completing a £50 million deal for Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Fred. The Brazilian's current club had blocked City's attempts to sign him during the January transfer window, but negotiations have continued and the two sides are reportedly close to agreeing terms on a deal that would see the 24-year-old move in the summer. He replaced current Manchester City midfielder Fernandinho in Shakhtar's midfield in 2013 and is expected to do the same at the Etihad.

Leon Bailey to Liverpool

With Monaco winger Thomas Lemar no longer a Liverpool transfer target, the Merseysiders have switched their attentions to Bayer Leverkusen's Bailey, according to the Daily Mirror. The 20-year-old attacker has been regularly scouted this season by Chelsea, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal. Now Liverpool have now also reportedly joined the race for his signature. He won't come cheap, though, and the German club are said to want £100m to let him go.

Marouane Fellaini to Besiktas

Manchester United midfielder Fellaini is out of contract in the summer and, according to reports, he has already turned down the offer of a new contract to remain a Old Trafford. Now Turkish newspaper Fotomac claims he could be on his way to Besiktas. The Istanbul club wanted the Belgium midfielder during the January transfer window but failed to get a deal over the line. That hasn't put them off trying to sign the 30-year-old, though, and they will reportedly make him their top priority when the season ends.

Jack Butland to Arsenal

Arsenal and Liverpool will go head to head for Stoke City's Butland in the summer, according to The Sun. The two sides are both looking for a new first-choice goalkeeper and have set their sights on the £40m-rated England international. Arsene Wenger is said to want a long-term replacement for Petr Cech, despite the 35-year-old Czech goalkeeper having a year left on his contract after this season, while Jurgen Klopp wants to buy a No.1 as he is unconvinced by either Simon Mignolet or Loris Karius.

Isco to Manchester United

Despite Zinedine Zidane's claim that talk he will sell Isco is a lie, that hasn't stopped the midfielder being subject of Manchester United transfer rumours. "Isco is a very good player. So El Chiringuito's report is a lie, and I am answering in order to put an end to this," he said before this weekend's action. However, Diario Gol claim United are still keen on a summer move and with Isco starting on the bench for Real Madrid in their 5-2 win over Real Sociedad on Saturday, that speculation won't go away.
