          Are United facing new De Gea battle?

          The news that Kepa Arrizabalaga has put pen to paper on a new Athletic Bilbao contract could spell trouble for Manchester United, according to the Mail.

          It says United "could yet lose David de Gea to long-time admirers Real Madrid, who had been hoping to persuade Kepa to move to the Bernabeu.

          And Kepa's decision to stay where he is means Madrid could now turn their attentions to De Gea -- who has only one year remaining on his deal at Old Trafford --- having narrowly failed to sign him in 2015.

          21.58 GMT: Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Manchester City are "close to [concluding]" a €40 million deal for Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Fred.

          21.30 GMT: Kenedy has been granted permission to join Newcastle on loan for the rest of the season with Chelsea set to announce a permanent deal for Roma left-back Emerson Palmieri, sources have confirmed to ESPN FC. Read the full story.

          20.57 GMT: Juan Quintero spoke with ESPN Argentina on Monday ahead of completing his move from Porto to River Plate. The Colombia international had been heavily linked to the Chicago Fire, but talks came to nothing.

          20.34 GMT: Tottenham are interested in taking Atletico Madrid striker Kevin Gameiro on loan through the rest of the season, but talkSPORT cites AS as reporting that Los Rojiblancos will only entertain an offer if the Frenchman moves out of the Spanish capital on a permanent basis.

          20.11 GMT: In negotiating the fee for Roma pair Emerson Palmieri and Edin Dzeko, Chelsea are attempting to use a six-month loan for Michy Batshuayi as a makeweight in the deal, according to CalcioMercato, although the Giallorossi would prefer bringing in a forward replacement on a permanent basis.

          19.48 GMT: The Star reports that Liverpool and Arsenal target Thomas Lemar would prefer to join Barcelona if he is to leave Monaco.

          19.25 GMT: Barcelona have confirmed that Rafinha has joined Serie A side Inter Milan on loan until the end of the season. Read the full story.

          19.02 GMT: In addition to resuming their interest in David De Gea, Real Madrid "are likely to concentrate their efforts on Chelsea's Thibaut Courtois", according to the Mail. The Premier League champions, the report states, have sounded out Stoke's England international Jack Butland as a potential replacement.

          18.39 GMT: And so it begins. With the ink still drying on Alexis Sanchez's Manchester United contract, the Mirror is reporting that Paul Pogba wants to see his £200,000-a-week wages doubled to fall in line with his brand-new teammate's £400,000-a-week pay packet.

          17.53 GMT: Everton and Liverpool are battling it out to sign Charlton Athletic's £5 million-rated England U20 centre-back Ezri Konsa, the Mirror reports.

          17.30 GMT: Everton, Newcastle and Brighton are all tracking Bristol City's £7m-rated full-back Joe Bryan, according to the Bristol Post. Bryan has been in fine form for the Championship club this season and is set to feature in Tuesday's EFL Cup semi-final second leg against Man City.

          17.15 GMT: DONE DEAL! Colorado Rapids have completed the capture of Ipswich Town defender Tommy Smith. The New Zealand international has signed a two-year deal at the MLS club.

          16.59 GMT: West Ham forward Andre Ayew could be heading to Galatasaray on loan until the summer, reports L'Equipe. The 28-year-old has scored only three goals in 18 Premier League appearances this season.

          16.44 GMT: Mathieu Flamini is close to joining Getafe on a free transfer, according to TalkSport. The former Arsenal midfielder will pen an 18-month contract with the La Liga side.

          16.25 GMT: A little more on Arsenal and Spurs target Malcom -- Bordeaux boss Gus Poyet revealed at his official unveiling on Monday that the player's future was a key topic during his interview for the job.

          "I asked straight away if Malcom would be staying or not,'' Poyet told L'Equipe. "They said yes. I said OK, now we can continue the discussion.''

          16.04 GMT: Everton were linked with a move for Fiorentina striker Khouma Babacar asthey sought a new striker in the summer and the Liverpool Echo, citing reports in Italy, says he "remains very much on the Blues' wishlist."

          15.43 GMT: Erdal Rakip is pretty pleased to have joined Crystal Palace, telling the official Palace website: "I believe this is a league that suits me and my way of playing.

          "It's fast-paced and physically intense, and I'm a classic, balanced No. 6 -- a box-to-box player who runs up and down the field. I hope to adapt quickly in order to help the team and show my qualities -- I have been training since the [Swedish] season ended and I feel fit and ready to play straight away."

          14.59 GMT: There's plenty of talk linking New York City FC's Jack Harrison with a £3.25m move to Stoke, but the winger shrugged off speculation when speaking to ESPN FC over the weekend.

          14.44 GMT: BBC reporter Simon Stone has revealed that Jonny Evans has a £3m release clause that will kick in if West Brom are relegated to the Championship.

          14.30 GMT: DONE DEAL -- Non-league side Maidstone United have re-signed QPR defender Alex Finney on loan until the end of the season.

          14.15 GMT: DONE DEAL -- Earlier in the day, we reported that Norwich City were set to sign midfielder Kenny McLean from Aberdeen -- and now they have, for an undisclosed fee, loaning him back for the remainder of the season.

          14.00 GMT: DONE DEAL -- Borussia Monchengladbach forward Kwame Yeboah has joined Paderborn on loan for the remainder of the season.

          13.45 GMT: And hot on the heels of that comes another DONE DEAL -- Leeds midfielder Mateusz Klich is off to Utrecht for the rest of the season.

          13.40 GMT: To South London, immediately, for a DONE DEAL -- Crystal Palace have signed midfielder Erdal Rakip on loan from Benfica for the rest of the season.

          13.30 GMT: Could Boca Juniors winger Cristian Pavon be on his way to Arsenal? The London Evening Standard reports that it's a possibility, saying the 22-year-old "has hinted he is prepared to depart the club amid speculation he is a transfer target for Arsenal."

          13:15 GMT: Swansea City are desperate to add more attacking threat to their ranks as they look to climb away from relegation danger, and Sky Sports reports that they have tabled a £9 million bid for Ajax winger Amin Younes as they attempt to do just that.

          12.42 GMT: Real Madrid are plotting to bring Liverpool's flying winger Mohamed Salah to the Santiago Bernabeu in the summer, according to the president of the Egyptian Football Federation.

          Hany Abo Rida was speaking on Egyptian TV over the weekend, with the Daily Mirror quoting him as saying: "There is a real chance he could play for Real Madrid next year. The Spaniards will make an offer for him."

          Egypt boss Hector Cuper backed up the claim, adding: "I've received news revealing Real's interest, but let's not rush things."

          12.32 GMT: After being linked to roughly 867 strikers in January, Chelsea are reportedly confident of completing a deal for Roma forward Edin Dzeko along with his teammate Emerson Palmieri. Telegraph reporter Matt Law had this to say on Twitter:

          12.23 GMT: Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Rafinha has completed a medical ahead of his transfer from Barcelona to Inter Milan. The midfielder is set to join the Serie A side on loan until the end of the season, with a view to a permanent switch in the summer.

          12.16 GMT: Another Leicester player who could be on the move is defender Yohan Benalouane. The Leicester Mercury says the 30-year-old is attracting interest from Rennes, having failed to make a single Premier League appearance for the Foxes this season.

          12.04 GMT: Leicester's Islam Slimani is the latest striker to be linked with a move to Chelsea. The Times says the Algerian is being lined up for a loan move until the end of the season.

          11.56 GMT: Arsenal legend Robert Pires has said he cannot understand why Alexis Sanchez is being allowed to join rivals Manchester United, adding that he believes the player wanted to stay. Read more here.

          11.51 GMT: Manchester City are considering a £40m January move for Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Fred in a bid to get a head start on their summer transfer business, sources have told ESPN FC. Full story here.

          11.39 GMT: Birmingham City are chasing former Wigan and Fulham striker Hugo Rodallega, claims Turkish outlet MynetSpor. The Colombian has been forced to settle for a bit-part role at Trabzonspor this season, scoring four goals in 12 Super Lig appearances.

          11.31 GMT: Blackburn Rovers have rejected a £4m bid from Cardiff for star midfielder Bradley Dack, according to the Daily Express. The 24-year-old has scored 12 goals since joining Rovers from Gillingham last summer, and is also being tracked by Aston Villa, Leeds and Middlesbrough.

          11.23 GMT: Chelsea are considering a shock move for West Ham forward Marko Arnautovic as Antonio Conte looks to bolster his attack, sources have told ESPN FC. Read more here.

          11.10 GMT: Sam Allardyce hopes to finalise a deal for £18m-rated Lille centre-back Adama Soumaoro this month, according to The Sun. The Everton boss is unhappy with his team's recent performances, with the Toffees failing to win any of their last seven games in all competitions.

          10.57 GMT: Aaron Lennon is set to undergo a medical at Burnley today after the Clarets agreed a fee for the winger with Everton. The 30-year-old is surplus to requirements at Goodison Park after Theo Walcott's arrival.

          10.44 GMT: Done(ish) Deal! Turkish club Sivasspor have announced they are close to signing former Real Madrid and Man City forward Robinho. The 33-year-old was most recently playing for Atlético Mineiro in Brazil.

          10.26 GMT: Eden Hazard says Chelsea don't need to sign a new striker in January. The Blues have been linked with moves for Peter Crouch and Edin Dzeko, but Hazard is happy to cover for Alvaro Morata and Michy Batshuayi at centre-forward. Read more here.

          10.16 GMT: Athletic Bilbao number one Kepa Arrizabalaga has signed a new contract at San Mames to end speculation linking him with a move to Real Madrid. The Basque club will be happy they don't need to find a new Kepa...

          10.09 GMT: Liverpool and Arsenal are set to duke it out in the summer for £90m-rated Monaco midfielder Thomas Lemar. The Daily Mail says the Premier League duo face competition from Atletico Madrid, who could lose star forward Antoine Griezmann to Barcelona.

          09.58 GMT: Juventus have been alerted to Mario Balotelli's impressive form and plan to sign the striker on a free transfer in the summer, The Sun reports. Balotelli has scored 18 goals for Nice and could be handed a five-year deal with the Italian champions to provide competition for Gonzalo Higuain.

          09.45 GMT: Big news from Manchester City, who are set to confirm that Kevin De Bruyne has signed a new contract extension that will keep him at the club until 2024, sources have told ESPN FC.

          09.30 GMT: Norwich City are poised to sign Aberdeen midfielder Kenny McLean, who is having a medical at the Championship club, Sky Sports reports. It says McLean could be loaned back to Aberdeen until the end of this season.

          09.20 GMT: The first DONE DEAL of the day, and it sees Southampton left-back Matt Targett join Championship side Fulham on loan for the rest of the season.

          09.15 GMT: Eden Hazard said he had spoken to his father after he suggested the Chelsea star hoped to get an offer from Real Madrid.

          Speaking after his two goals helped see off Brighton 4-0 on Saturday, Hazard reiterated that he was happy at Stamford Bridge but stopped short of saying he would extend his contract, which runs until June 2020. "My dad says some bad things," he said with a smile. "I talked with him, no worries. I'm focused with Chelsea.

          09.00 GMT: So, let's say Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang wraps up a move to Arsenal by the end of the month... what happens then? German magazine kicker says: "Should Dortmund be able to sell Aubameyang, his successor is already in the starting gates. Olivier Giroud would join from Arsenal.... and they would first take him on loan until the end of the season."

          08.50 GMT: Although speculation continues to suggest that Spurs could go head-to-head with North London rivals Arsenal for the signature of Bordeaux forward Malcom, manager Mauricio Pochettino has said he is happy with the players he has got and is not concerned that rivals are strengthening.

          08.40 GMT: Sunderland boss Chris Coleman said at the weekend that the club had reached agreement on a move for a player and were "waiting for an answer" -- and the Northern Echo reports that the player in question is Derby forward Chris Martin, who is also interesting Reading.

          08.30 GMT: Alexis Sanchez will train with his new Manchester United teammates for the first time on Tuesday, the London Evening Standard reports.

          08.15 GMT: Roma coach Eusebio Di Francesco has stressed that Edin Dzeko is "important" as speculation continues to link the striker with a move to Chelsea.

          Di Francesco, speaking after his side's draw with Inter Milan on Sunday, also said midfielder Radja Nainggolan would be staying put despite links with a move to the Chinese Super League.

          Sturridge sets sights on Sevilla

          Yesterday, reports suggested Daniel Sturridge could be on his way to Italy -- but now the Mirror says he has told Liverpool he wants to join Sevilla.

          Sturridge's time at Anfield has been disrupted by injuries, but he has been fit for most of this season and wants regular football so he can stake a claim for a place in England's World Cup squad.

          The striker has been linked with AC Milan, Inter and Valencia, but the Mirror says Sevilla are the new front-runners and have seen a loan request turned down.

          It reports that Liverpool "want a transfer fee of around £25 million but are prepared to write in a loan period with a guarantee of a payment in the summer."

          And it adds that Sturridge "has urged Liverpool to open talks with Sevilla in an attempt to find an agreement."

          Lambert's Crouch hopes could be thwarted

          New Stoke boss Paul Lambert wants to make sure Peter Crouch does not leave for Chelsea this month -- but the Independent reports that matters may not be in his hands.

          Lambert, whose side beat Huddersfield in his first game in charge, has told the Blues 36-year-old Crouch is not for sale.

          But the Independent says that, whatever Lambert may hope, "Crouch will be allowed to leave should Chelsea make Stoke an offer too good to refuse."

          The Premier League champions are weighing up a move after injuries prevented them from trying to sign West Ham's Andy Carroll.

          Schurrle in line for Premier League return

          Andre Schurrle could be on his way back to the Premier League after Borussia Dortmund opted to make him available on loan, and the Mail says Newcastle and Stoke are in the frame.

          Former Chelsea forward Schurrle has not been a regular for Dortmund of late, and the club are reportedly willing to allow him an 18-month loan deal.

          BVB are likely to continue paying half the 27-year-old's £150,000-a-week wages, and both the Magpies and Stoke want to be the club that pays the other half.

          Swans fail in Ayew bid

          Swansea want to bring their former attacker Andre Ayew back to the Liberty Stadium but have seen an approach rebuffed by West Ham, the BBC reports.

          The Hammers have said no to Swansea's bid for a player who cost them around £20m and in any case "may be reluctant to sell to a rival in the lower reaches of the league."

          The Telegraph says Swansea "will have to break their transfer record to re-sign Ayew after a £14m offer was rejected."

          Tap-ins

          - West Brom boss Alan Pardew wants more goals and thinks Newcastle striker Aleksandar Mitrovic could supply them, Sky Sports reports.

          Pardew is keen on a Mitrovic move but Sky adds that it "is dependent on funds raised from the sale of defender Jonny Evans."

          - Young Manchester City stars could go on loan to Bristol City because Etihad Stadium officials are impressed by the way Lee Johnson's team plays, says the Mirror.

          City, who face the Championship club in the Carabao Cup, have often sent young players on overseas loans but feel Bristol could "prepare them for Pep Guardiola's football philosophy."
