Liverpool, Manchester City join race for Barcelona target Jean Michael Seri

With the January window on the horizon, there's plenty brewing in the transfer market. All the latest deals and potential deals can be found here.

Liverpool and City plot Seri move

Jean Michael Seri appeared destined to join Barcelona last summer until the Blaugrana backed out of the deal for the Nice star.

The Ivorian midfielder failed to get his big move but now Man City and Liverpool could be next to provide that opportunity, according to the Mail.

The link brings Emre Can's future into doubt given RB Leipzig star Naby Keita, another midfielder, is already set to arrive to boost the Reds' midfield.

Nice knocked back the Blaugrana's offer of £35 million for the 26-year-old, but a similar offer could do the job next month.

Ozil and Sanchez move closer to Manchester

Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez's expiring contracts have been a constant distraction throughout the season for Arsenal.

The Gunners superstars appear set to leave with Tuttosport claiming Ozil is set for Manchester United, while Sanchez is increasingly likely to join City.

Should both moves come off, it will mean the players will reunite with Jose Mourinho and Pep Guardiola after spells together at Real Madrid and Barcelona respectively.

Evans race hots up

Manchester City were shock suitors for Jonny Evans last summer and the Mirror reports there could be more interest in the West Brom stalwart in January from Everton and West Ham.

Sam Allardyce and David Moyes both see Evans as a key part of their rebuilding projects, though Guardiola may also reignite interest after John Stones' injury.

The Northern Ireland international will be forced into a tough decision with the lure of trophies at the Etihad or guaranteed game time with the Hammers or Toffees.

Newly arrived WBA boss Alan Pardew will be desperate to hold on to the 29-year-old in the Baggies' battle to beat the drop, meaning Evans will likely be an expensive mid-season signing.

Brighton plot ambitious Dembele bid

Brighton's search for a stellar striker could lead the newly-promoted club to Celtic and Moussa Dembele with the Mail claiming a £20m bid could be forthcoming.

The French forward could be sacrificed with the Bhoys now out of the Champions League, but a £30m asking price has been set.

The 21-year-old has had his form hurt by a hamstring injury, though he has still managed to hit seven goals in all competitions this term after a stunning total of 32 last season.

Tap-ins

- Inter Milan have held a meeting in order to sign Jakub Jankto, according to Tuttosport.

The Czech starlet has impressed at Udinese and the Nerazzurri now appear to be stepping up interest in the 21-year-old.

- Chris Coleman wants to bring Bolton's Gary Madine to Sunderland in a bid to help steer the Black Cats away from relegation, reports the Mail.

The 27-year-old has impressed this term with six goals and five assists but with a contract until 2019, the Trotters may demand a lofty fee to release their star.
