PSG keen on adding Alexis Sanchez, loaning Julian Draxler to Liverpool

With the January window on the horizon, there's plenty brewing in the transfer market. All the latest deals and potential deals can be found here.

PSG in for Alexis Sanchez

Paris Saint-Germain have broken the record for most goals scored in the Champions League group stages with a game to spare: Neymar, Edinson Cavani and Kylian Mbappe have all shone, helping the Ligue 1 giants put up 24 goals from just five games and emerge as the favourites for the competition.

But Unai Emery could have even more firepower at his disposal, as the Mirror reports that they could go head-to-head with Manchester City for Alexis Sanchez in January. Arsenal are preparing to decide whether to salvage some value in the Chilean or risk losing him for nothing in the summer.

The 28-year-old looked stellar in the North London derby, grabbing a goal as the Gunners downed Tottenham 2-0 to revitalise their title aspirations.

It remains to be seen whether La Roja's inability to qualify for the World Cup changes his position about a January exit.

Liverpool look to get Julian Draxler on loan

Liverpool are looking to take advantage the outstanding form of Neymar, Cavani and Mbappe to grab Julian Draxler on loan, reports L'Equipe.

The Germany international could be looking at sporadic substitute appearances under Emery for the remainder of the season, which could wreck preparations for Russia 2018.

The Reds could utilise the former Wolfsburg star as both a winger and backup to Roberto Firmino, with Daniel Sturridge not convincing Jurgen Klopp.

Van Bronckhorst eyed as Arsene Wenger replacement

Arsenal could turn to Giovanni Van Bronckhorst as Arsene Wenger's replacement at the Emirates, according to the Star.

The Feyenoord boss featured for the Gunners from 2001-2003, and his former French boss has identified him as a possible successor.

And Wenger might give the signal behind the scenes for the former Netherlands international to take over at the end of the 2018-19 season.

The 42-year-old won the Eredivisie last season with the Rotterdam club after an 18-year wait, but this term his side have struggled to contend in Champions League football, dropping 14 points behind leaders PSV.

Premier League trio compete for Turkish wonder kid

Arsenal might lose one of their key players in January but are also in the buying market too, with Fenerbahce starlet Oguz Kaan Guctekin in demand, reports Turkish Football.

Tottenham are also keen, while Yellow Canaries president Aziz Yildirim has claimed that Manchester City have already had a €5m bid rejected for the 18-year-old.

Aykut Kocaman handed Kaan his debut at the weekend, with the midfielder entering the game with four minutes to go as Fener beat Sivasspor 4-1.

Tap-ins

-- Celtic are set to make a move for Ghanian forward Patrick Twumasi, with Ghana Sports Online detailing that the Hoops could make a move for the Astana star in January.

Brendan Rodgers will be familiar with the 23-year-old, given he scored twice against the Scottish champions in the Champions League playoff this season. And a fine record of 13 goals and six assists in 30 games in the Kazakhstani Premier Liga looks to have persuaded Celtic to make a move.

-- Claude Puel will ditch two of Leicester's most expensive signings in January, with the Mirror reporting that Leonardo Ulloa and Ahmed Musa are both set to be shown the door.

The pair cost £26m collectively and the Foxes will also ship out Yohan Benalouane, likely back to Serie A, where he spent time on loan at Fiorentina and previously with Cesena, Parma and Atalanta before joining Leicester.

-- Everton could shift their managerial target away from Marco Silva after growing frustrated with negotiations for the Watford boss.

The Toffees failed with a £10m compensation offer for the Portuguese coach and Ralf Rangnick could now emerge as the new frontrunner after impressing in his time with RB Leipzig, previously as a manager and now as their sporting director.
