Jack Wilshere could spurn Manchester City, Chelsea for La Liga move

With the January window on the horizon, there's plenty brewing in the transfer market. All the latest deals and potential deals can be found here.

Betis 'close to Wilshere move'

Last month, Chelsea and Manchester City were reported to be potential destinations for Arsenal's Jack Wilshere -- but now he could be on his way to La Liga instead.

Wilshere's deal expires in the summer, meaning he can leave on a free transfer in July, and the Sun says Real Betis "believe they are close to pulling off a coup by convincing him to move to Spain."

It reports that Betis "have made contact with Wilshere, with the player open to moving."

And it adds that the Liga high-fliers "could push for a cut-price deal in January if talks between Wilshere and Arsenal either don't happen or reach a stalemate."

Mourinho makes Soler his sole priority

Valencia midfielder Carlos Soler is Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho's key winter transfer target, the Independent reports.

It says that although transfer funds will be "much more constrained" than they were in the summer, Mourinho will push hard for the arrival of the Spain Under-21 international as he seeks more creativity in the absence of the injured Paul Pogba.

With Soler likely to be priced at around £40 million, "United have considered the possibility of offering Andreas Pereira, currently thriving on loan at Valencia, plus cash."

Meanwhile, on Wednesday sources told ESPN FC that United would not sell Marouane Fellaini in January even if that meant losing him on a free transfer in the summer.

And according to the Mirror they are "increasingly resigned" to the midfielder departing for nothing.

It says the Belgium international, linked with Galatasaray, Besiktas, AC Milan, Roma and Valencia, "is not happy with the terms he has been offered and wants to play more regularly."

And it adds that since he rejected United's offer of a new £120,000-a-week deal in September "there has been nothing from his camp to indicate that stance will change."

Rakitic to Anfield if Coutinho joins Barca?

All aboard the transfer merry-go-round -- Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic could head for Liverpool if playmaker Philippe Coutinho goes the other way in January.

The Mail reports that Croatia international Rakitic "is not pleased at the prospect of playing second fiddle to Coutinho and is considering his options."

With Barca reportedly poised to renew efforts to bring in Coutinho after failing to do so in the summer, the Mail says Rakitic "could be used as part of a potential swap deal."

The 29-year-old has also been linked with Manchester United, and speculation last month suggested he could trade places with Anthony Martial.

Tap-ins

-- Sandro Ramirez might have started only three league games and be yet to score since arriving at Everton from Malaga, but that doesn't seem to have deterred interest in the striker.

Earlier this month Ramirez was linked with Inter Milan, and now talkSPORT reports that Valencia "are lining up a January approach."

-- Championship duo Birmingham and Cardiff are interested in Asteras Tripoli defender Konstantinos Triantafyllopoulos in January, according to the Birmingham Mail.

It says Birmingham want to strengthen their central defensive options as they bid to stay in the division, while Cardiff boss Neil Warnock is eager to augment his squad for a promotion push.
