Arsenal could bring Cuadrado back to Prem
Ahead of their trip to Chelsea on Sunday, Arsenal are eyeing former Blues midfielder Juan Cuadrado as Arsene Wenger looks to strengthen his squad with one or two new additions in January.
Although he lasted just six months at Stamford Bridge before being shipped out on loan to Juventus in 2015, Cuadrado has played an important role in two double-winning campaigns with the Italian champions.
Arsenal's interest in the Colombian suggests they have given up their pursuit of summer target Thomas Lemar, reports The Sun, despite agreeing a €92 million fee for the midfielder on deadline day.
It had been reported that the Gunners will resurrect their bid for the Monaco man in January, but Wenger now appears to be assessing other options with Cuadrado a possible alternative.
Sanchez to snub Real Madrid
Arsenal's links to Cuadrado follow speculation this week that Mesut Ozil will join Alexis Sanchez in departing the Emirates Stadium when his contract expires at the end of the season.
Sanchez has been tracked by Real Madrid, with Arsenal thought to be encouraging January offers, but the Chile international still has his heart set on a move to Manchester City, claims the Daily Mirror.
Sanchez was close to joining Pep Guardiola's side on deadline day, but Madrid have attempted to capitalise on the situation after the transfer fell through.
Their efforts to persuade Sanchez to head to the Santiago Bernabeu are expected to be in vain, however, as he looks to join City either in January or when his contract expires in June.
Should Sanchez decide to stay in England, Florentino Perez will turn his attention to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Robert Lewandowski, with Torino's Andrea Belotti another striker thought to be on his short list.
